Hip Getaways - Qua Spa & Baths, Las Vegas

An essential travel tip that I have learned over the years is to book your spa appointment for the day you check out.  This way you have somewhere to hang and a place to freshen up before the long journey home.  I usually get up and have a nice brunch an hour before my appointment so I can digest.  Make it two hours if you are having a massage and lying on your stomach with someone putting pressure on you.  I also request late check out at 1 PM, which they usually give you.  I like to leave my luggage with the Bellman and head to the spa for some quality relaxation before a late night flight.

The best place to do this in Las Vegas after you are left broke, hungover and overstuffed?  Welcome to Qua Spa and Baths inside Caesar's Palace.  Here's the deal, it costs only $45 to use the Roman Baths, gym, water therapies, steam and sauna rooms for the day.  You do not need to be a guest of the hotel to use the #1 spa on the strip.  Book any treatment and the access fee is waived.

Listen, I must have made back that $45 alone in all the free tea, water, pretzels, dark chocolate, apples and juices I ate and drank.  Heck!  I probably saved money not gambling at the blackjack table.  A Tea Sommelier will even help you choose a loose-leaf tea from their tea bar, steep, strain and sweeten the damn thing for you.  Now that's service!  If you feel peckish, nibble on some Green & Black's Organic Dark Chocolate or grab a juice from the mini-fridge.  You could easily spend three hours here nursing a hangover.
Do keep in mind that the men's and women's spa areas are kept separate.  Swimsuits are optional and the pools are chlorine free. I especially liked the Arctic Ice Room where snowflakes fell from the ceiling. It was a great way to cool off after using the Cedarwood Sauna or the Herbal Steam Room. The Roman Baths consisted of a hot tub, a warm mineral pool, a cold plunge pool and a rainfall shower.  It felt really great cycling through each of them.  I almost fell asleep on the heated tiled beds while drying off.  Bathrobes, slippers, a locker, magazines and lots of towels are also provided during your visit.  I would definitely return again and highly recommend it.
