The Main Entrance & Reception
I found a killer deal to Ste. Anne's Spa on Travelzoo last month. Lucky for me, mid-week getaways are right up my alley. I work weekends as a DJ and my husband Paul works from home...so off on a Wednesday we went. We left Toronto at 10:45 AM and made it into the small town of Grafton, Ontario by Noon. It's amazing that just getting an hour outside of Toronto will lead you to rolling green hills, a view of Lake Ontario and the plush countryside.
The Centuries-old Original Farmhouse
Our Room - The Parlour Suite
The Room - Located inside the original farmhouse that stood on the estate, our Parlour Suite had lots of country charm. We had a fantastic soaking tub, gas fireplace, king-size bed and a garden view. No TV or telephone were found in our room, luckily we had our iPhones and a good game of Scrabble to keep us occupied and relaxed. Our package was inclusive of breakfast, a three-course dinner and overnight accomodations. We decide to go a la carte with our spa treatments.
The Doll's House Cottage
Along with the original farmhouse, the resort includes this cute little cottage just a short walk away from the main building. Ste. Anne's has a total of 28 guest suites within their Four Diamond collection of accomodations. The resort often offers last-minute deals via their website and by spa lotto, which is a spa auction site.
The Spa - has been voted Top Spa in Canada by SpaFinder Readers. Of course, as a spa-junkie, I had to see this for myself! I really loved how Ste. Anne's is all about the full wellness experience. Which includes a spa-inspired menu, yoga classes, hiking trails, water grotto, steam rooms, sauna, outdoor and indoor pools. Everything you need to relax is at your fingertips. Including muskoka chairs to read a book in and lounging chairs for tanning. We spied other couples napping in a hammock or hanging out in the gazebos.
For our spa treatments, we both booked Swedish Massages ($120/60 mins) with our Registered Massage Therapists. Ste. Anne's uses all Aveda products and we just soaked up all the aromatherapy. Post-massage, we sipped on some chocolate tea in the sunroom and caught up on our reading. The outdoor water grotto was the perfect place to soak out in the sun. You could cycle between the hot tub, warm spa pool and cold plunge pool, then move inside to the steam room.
Spa Garden & Courtyard
If you need an easy getaway with a destination spa twist to it, check out Ste. Anne's Spa for a quick unplug & unwind. The resort is very popular for romantic getaways, bachelorette parties and a girls weekend. A day spa is also available for those just looking to drive up for the day.
