The Urban Recessionista - Flip-flops @ Joe Fresh

Happy May long weekend everyone!  May two-four usually signals the start of cottage season and the flipping of my tiny closet from winter clothes to full-out summer gear.  My staple shoe for puttering around the city, is the flip-flop and I just found the *best* pair...
I was a big fan of the Old Navy flip-flop in my broke university days...they were only $6!  I then moved on to Havainas from Brazil, known for their comfort and rainbow of colours.  Havainas were my staple flip-flop brand for years and they were a pricey $20.  Once you buy three or four pairs, well that's $80 you just spent on flip-flops lady.  Those days of wild spending are over my friends.
I have discovered the most comfortable flip-flop in the world care of my sister when we went on our trip to The Bahamas last year.  After one too many pina colodas, I threw on her shoes to go find the bathroom and damn, were they comfy.  Her secret?  Joe Fresh, $4 baby.  Yup, that's right.  You could get yourself a couple pairs at Loblaws or The Superstore and a bag of peas for under $20.  The sole is soft, flexible and the thong is not stiff.  I could walk for hours, shuffling my feet from place to place.  I was an instant convert and now you know our secret.
For the ultimate summer flip-flop, check them out at Joe Fresh, inside Loblaws.

  2. It's good to know I'm not the only addict. I limited myself to two pairs this year, until I wear my havainas out. You can also put your flip-flops in the washing machine on gentle cycle to keep them looking new!
