Last Friday, North America's largest free South Asian festival, Masala! Mehndi! Masti! kicked off their 10th anniversary year. The festival ran for the entire weekend on the Exhibition Grounds and featured a marketplace, live performances, film festival and food vendors. It was the perfect summer night to grab yourself a big heaping plate of butter chicken and naan and take in a traditional song and dance show at the Bandshell. This is why I love Toronto so much...
Fresh naan being made in a tandoor oven and some sort of delicious fritter! I had no idea there was going to be so much great street food. It was an Indian food-lovers dream. I wish this was everyday...
Fresh sugar cane juice and tandoori chicken skewers
My favourite! Papri Chaat, a popular street snack with crisp chips, yogurt, chutney and potatoes. A spicy and tangy explosion with yogurt that cools the mouth.

Thanks to Safia and the team at Lotus Leaf Communications for inviting us! We had a great time. Make sure you mark this event into your calendar for next year and book in a dinner from the Indian street stalls and watch a free show!
