Opening Night: Love, Loss and What I Wore
Written by Nora and Delia Ephron and based on the book by Ilene Beckerman, I couldn't wait for the opening night of Love, Loss, and What I Wore. Without fancy backdrops or props, the entire show was based on the raw talent of five and delivered in a rotating monologue about clothes, accessories, the women who wear them and the events happening around them at the time. It runs about an hour and a half with no intermission and is full of humour, nostalgia and witty entertainment. The show appeals to the 20-something girl who 'hates her purse' to her nagging mother who owns twenty black turtlenecks and counting, and even to the hip grandma with a bursting closet of clothes collected over the years - but yet, of course has nothing to wear!
Love, Loss, and What I Wore plays until August 7 at the Panasonic Theatre (651 Yonge Street). Take your girlfriends, your mom, your aunt or grams and get ready to LOL!
Starring: Paula Brancati, Andrea Martin, Sharron Matthews, Louise Pitre and Mary Walsh.
