The CNE 2010, Toronto

The opening of The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE or The Ex) is always so bittersweet.  Yes, the end of summer is here but the normally dormant Exhibition Grounds come alive with a midway, farm exhibit, shopping, shows and lots to eat.  The CNE is part urban carnival meets country fair.
My favourite memory as a kid was report card day at the end of June, when tucked inside that yellow envelope was a free kids pass to The Ex.  I have been every year since I was little.
The Midway, every carnival ride you can imagine and then some.
If you have never been, you must experience it at least once, if not a dozen times in your life.  The CNE is quintessentially Toronto, where you can try food from all different cultures in The Food Building and buy a chamois the same day.  The diversity is endless, there is really something for everyone.  I write this as I eat a 1/4 pound of Praline Fudge from The CNE in front of my laptop.  Here are some great pics we snapped from the day...

Has anyone actually ever won playing Mr. Frog???

Games where you toss stuff = FUN

Everybody is a Winner!
Over 1.3 million people will visit The Ex this year and Canada's largest fair is happening right now in Toronto.  The Midway is open daily from 11 AM everyday until Midnight.  You have until September 6th, 2010 when The Ex and Summer are all over.
