Target in Canada?

For now Target stores in Canada remain as a rumour. If all goes as planned, "Tar-zhay", a cheap-chic retailer will be acquiring up to 220 sites from Zellers to open a retail network in Canada comprising of 100 to 150 stores. But of course, we'll have to wait till 2013 if this is going to happen. And if it does, we look forward to getting access to these hip and urban private brands without having to make the road trip to Buffalo!

Limited edition collections by A-Listers like William Rast for Target (which is Justin Timberlake's denim brand currently available in the US).

Michael Graves who designs beautiful kitchenware, home accessories and cleaning supplies that are a mix of function and innovation (think Alessi but without the hefty pricetag).

Choxie - the pretty packaging caught my eye and THEN I realized it was chocolate with moxie! Definitely an affordable premium treat with a wide variety of unique flavours like Crèmebrulee Bar, PB Pretzel, Raspberry Lemon and dark chocolate with chipotle (a personal fave).

Cool prescription bottles (ClearRx) so intelligently and artistically designed that they were featured in MoMA. The dosage info is boldly displayed on a flat surface and coloured rings differentiate between the meds or which bottle belows to whom in multiple family households.

So let's just keep our fingers crossed and hopefully Canada will be a target for Target!

  1. It's not really a rumour. There was a national announcement made about it last week :)

  2. I think this blog post from Life of a Suburban Princess echoes some of my sentiments of not getting all the brands that Targets carries in Canada:
