Toronto swimwear designer, Katharine Demarchelier has just released her hot South Beach-inspired looks for Spring/Summer 2011. A former model and student at Western University (majoring in Poli Sci), this multi-tasking hip + urban girl creates reversible bathing suits that do double-duty on vacay. This young Canadian designer is only 20 years-old and launched her own line for those looking for original, edgy swimwear with a young spirit. Her line recently launched at Vancouver Fashion Week to great reviews.
The White Label Collection for Spring/Summer 2011 is full of florals, prints and playful details like ruffles and beading. One side features a solid colour and the other is a fun print. Small mother of pearl beads look like edible pieces of candy. Katharine's collection includes a mix of bikinis and one piece suits. Each suit comes with a cleanser and conditioner to keep your investment in tip top shape. She gives us hip + urban girls the lowdown on how to take care of our swimsuits:Katharine's Tips for Swimwear Care:
1) Rinse with fresh water immediately after swimming
2) Hand wash your garment with a gentle cleanser
3) Apply a swimwear conditioner that contains SPF, which keeps your suit from fading
4) Leave out to air-dry, no need to rinse the conditioner off.
The luxurious Signature Collection features Swarovski crystal pearls, french braiding and a variety of unique cuts. Katharine includes a mix of floral prints, navy blues, burgundy, turquoise and rose.
