This amazingly delicious and wonderfully simple dessert is what we serve apres meal at the first cooking class of my 6-week program. We serve it dipped into the most delicious ice cream maker free, coconut milk ice cream. And well, this pretty much wins my guests over. They immediately decide that I’m alright and that they’ll be waiting with baited breath for the next class to come around.
If you ask me, the best treats are the ones that are easy to make and that are universally loved as this one is. It is so simple that I can’t even think of anything to say about it. Perhaps we should discuss the health benefits?
Well, there aren’t really any. Cooking nuts and raw honey in the oven is going to take away a lot of the goodness. With that being said, as far as desserts go, this one is still going to be a better option than most. So treat this treat as a treat, as Michael Pollan says, and bake it on up.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better. As we pulled it from the oven to cool during my class, I looked down at this smoldering, bubbling cookie sheet of love and said aloud- “We should have added chocolate!”.
Guess I’ll have to make this again and try out that version. Happy nut loving!
