The Red and White Ball 2011, Toronto

The Hip & Urban Girl's Guide is proud to be an official Media Sponsor for The Red and White Ball 2011 in Toronto. All proceeds will benefit Rethink Breast Cancer to aid in support, education and research to help women affected by the disease. Its a great cause that directly benefits hip + urban girls that need our help. Red + White = Pink for Rethink.

The event attracts over 500 young professionals and has raised over $20,000 during this one very special night. 1 in 9 women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer over their lifetime and all of us know someone who has been affected by this disease.

So dig out your reds and whites and come to The Ball!  We'll be there, so come say hi and we'll be live tweeting the night away. Tickets ($55) are still available for the event happening on Friday April 29th @ The Courthouse, starting at 9 pm. A complimentary wine bar runs until 10:30 pm with lots of snacks, nibbles, giveaways and swag to round out the night. Round-up your besties, girlfriends and boyfriends and let's hit the dance floor. Catch these photos from last year's event and our coverage from The Red and White Ball.

Come on out and make a difference!  BUY TICKETS NOW

*WIN TICKETS* We are giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky reader. Comment below on what you would wear to the event with a link to your twitter, email or FB page, so we can contact you. Winner will be chosen Wednesday April 27th.

  1. ME, ME, ME!!! I would love to go! I need to shake my booty for a good cause ;)

I would wear my very new One Shouldered Maxi Red Dress with a ruffle...I would pair it with some sky high heels (that are comfy for dancing) - maybe black and gold Pierre Hardys or my trusty Aldo cage sandals. And my accessory for the night would be my boyfriend (probably in a black suit).

    Fingers crossed!

    PS. just in case

  2. Breast Cancer awareness is a very special cause to me, and I would love to be able to attend this.

As for what I would wear to such an amazing event, I'd wear a grey Hugo Boss suit, brown Aldo shoes, white french cuff shirt, and a red tie, with red pocket square.

  3. I would love to go:)

I will wear a new dress that I just bought from Champagne and cupcake-a cobalt and blue buckle dress!

  4. Meredith - I accidently hit 'delete' on the tiny email on my phone with your comment. So yes you are entered and sorry!!! Please leave your twitter, link to your FB or email in case you win :)

  5. I would have to go out and buy a new dress just for this occasion (what a great excuse to go shopping)

  6. Oh my, I would LOVE to go to this event!! I'd definitely wear a red over-the-shoulder Lanvin flounce dress. If I owned one! But I'd definitely wear something similar, along with my Jerome C. Rousseau silver glitter heels!

PS: Just read that Nelia would wear the same dress! Oops, maybe I'd wear the white version instead, then ;)

  7. What a wonderful event! I would LOVE to win a really great excuse to go shopping for some red and white!

  8. I'd love for such a great excuse to take a day off work and go shopping for a brand new red or white dress (or perhaps a pair of sexy red pumps)! Maybe I can finally justify buying that stunning little number I had spotted at the Eaton Centre...

  9. What a wonderful cause and worthy event! It has been a long time since I have been to such a fancy event. Cancer is a cause that hits home to many people, including myself.

In terms of what to wear; I would definitely choose my Ruby Red Chandelier Lanvin for H&M Necklace over a white sleeveless Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress. I would pair this with my black sling back Louboutins and black Hermes clutch.

Thank you for having this contest. Namaste!

  10. I'd wear a nice black suit with some matching black shoes. The next part would be a surprise maybe a red shirt and white tie or maybe white shirt red tie. If I win you shall all find out what combo was chosen.

  11. I would wear a red Nanette Lepore blazer, my tuxedo Diane von Furstenburg pants, and Michael Kors heels. I would also add some pearls to get the complete "Red and White" look!

Just last Thursday, I attended the funeral of a family friend who had passed away from cancer. Despite all of the amazing research that has been conducted, there are still far too many individuals whose life is cut short due to cancer. Any opportunity to profile this disease and raise money for a cure is a worthy event!

Great idea for the Hip & Urban Girl's Guide to become the Official Media Sponsor because it sounds like a fabulous event!

    Thanks for the opportunity!

I am a fan on Facebook and I follow on Twitter (@ek03yr)

  12. i do have a very nice suit that is always looking for an occasion to see daylight, and i also have an eye on a brand new hugo boss suit at the bay, might be inclined to splurge on it.

  13. This event sounds like it would be so much fun! I would probably wear my very scandalous (and favourite) 'nude', one-shoulder dress as seen here: because I'm not very good at following instructions OR my red, three quarter sleeve (equally scandalous as the previous one) dress as seen here:

    Love you ladies!

  14. Wah! Glad I checked this! Okay so thanks for the note (about the deletion!)

I would so love to go to the red and white ball-fully support the cause!!!

  15. This would be a perfect excuse to myself a new dress! With a wardrobe full of darks, a nice white dress would be a great addition, or maybe a nice long pant and fun top. So many possibilities!

  16. @_robyndenise_
I'd go with the simple 'red' dress that every girl should have in her closet.. Maybe a small alice band for style

  17. Looks like i'm the only guy that wants to go :D

  18. Congratulations to Darrin - you're our winner, picked by the random number generator to comment #2.

    See you on Friday!
