Toronto Fashion Week: Sid Neigum F/W 2011

Now, I'm not much of a fashion expert, but put me in a room with pretty people, dramatic lighting and pulsating remixes as the aforementioned pretty people walk, and I'm game.  Held in the beautiful Heritage Building on the Exhibition grounds, the room was filled with industry types and photographers ready to capture the edgy new work from a well-regarded Canadian designer.

The showing for the Sid Neigum Fall/Winter 2011 collection was filled with monochrome richness for both the men and women's outfits. Capes, cloaks, hoods, dropped crotches and geometric constructions were the theme for this dark and structured look. I was impressed by the tailored construction and strict look of all the outfits, the collection had continuity and power in its presentation.  Will you be rocking a cape this fall? -- Nelu Handa

  1. I loved this collection! I know it was kind of dark... but it just felt really cozy to me with the capes and the loose styles.
