Domison, a Montreal-based furniture store has just set up their Toronto flagship store at Jarvis and King last month. The concept is modern and sophisticated furniture at a mid-level price point. Domison is the brainchild of design siblings, Thien and My Ta Trung. Think high style, cutting-edge pieces that are built to last. Thien has relocated to Toronto to run this location, often shuttling back and forth to their Montreal store. He noticed that Toronto had a well-established community of high-end furniture stores however, the number of independently-owned stores in the middle (above Ikea, below uber-expensive designer) were not as numerous as in Montreal. A location in Toronto made perfect business sense.
Everything Thien and My carry is designed in Canada and Domison will feature independent designers from across the country. The 3500 sq ft showroom includes furniture for the bedroom, living room and dining room. So if you're a design enthusiast or someone just looking for some cool non-Swedish furniture to replace your old university junk, check out Domison.
