You may remember Chip & Pepper shoes from the 80s. They were the coolest things to wear with a neon Vuarnet shirt when I was in grade six. I was happy to hear that the brand is still going strong with a designer denim line and now a new line of neon-infused wet wear.
Born in Winnipeg, Canadian identical twins, Chip & Pepper were in Toronto this month to celebrate the launch of S3 – Snow, Skate and Surf.
S3 will be a store-within-a-store concept inside 25 Sportchek locations across Canada. A big part of that store will be the Chip & Pepper collection.
The urban lifestyle boutique will carry a variety of premium board-sport merchandise. S3 will also feature branded apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories targeted for snow, skate and surf from brands like Burton, DC, Nike 6.0, Vans, Converse, Oakley, Etnies, Chip and Pepper, Zero and Alien Workshop.
The launch party was held at Airship 37, a newly renovated warehouse space next to The Distillery District. A silent auction with signed sports wear and gear were up for sale for charity. The crew at Sportchek even brought along a live graffiti artist and DJ.
