Easy Summer Hair

Not sure what to do with your hair in all this heat? Are you frizzing out from the humidity? We have a guest post today from Joico Artist, Lance Blanchette with his two looks for easy summer hair for long and short styles.

For long hair, interest is moving from the top of the head to the nape. Whether you are looking for a chignon or a bun, drop it low. Here are two versions on a similar theme. The first will be more formal, while the second will be a bit looser.

Begin by loosening the hair up for both looks by adding a volumizing lotion such as Joico’s Body Luxe Design Foam to dampen the hair and blow dry. Emulsify one drop of Kpak Protect and Shine Serum in your hands and pull through the hair for shine. Once dry spray a humidity blocker to keep moisture out.

The first is a quick way to make a chignon of interest. Take the hair into a low ponytail, braid the hair and wrap it around itself using pins to secure it in place. Be sure and wrap it flat to the head or it will look like a ball instead of a chignon. Use a good working hairspray for control.

We will be adding some interest on the sides for the second look. Part the front in the middle and twist one side loosely back and temporarily secure with pins and repeat on the opposite side of the head. Use a small amount of Joicos Body Luxe Design Foam to control the hair. Bring the two sides together and secure with an elastic. Put some soft backcombing into the ponytail.

Wrap this soft pony around itself to create a low bun or chignon securing with pins. Finish with a hairspray to hold the look in place. Voila! You have easy summer hair.
