Summer Sale Sightings at Vaughan Mills

August is always a bittersweet month for me. While I'm busy soaking up the last of the summer sun and enjoying my birthday celebrations, fashion seems to be bullying me into thinking about fall.

Knits, long sleeves and thicker coats are sneaking their way into my favourite stores but, of course, there is a silver lining in that dark cloud. Summer sales are here! I took a hike up to Vaughan Mills to check out what's on sale and worth scooping up at the end of the season.

Being an outlet based mall, Vaughan Mills' stores tend to have sales in every store, but I couldn't get over the deals on the spring and summer merchandise at Danier.

Their spring cropped coats and biker jackets in creamy whites and soft hues were all heavily discounted. Many jackets were under $150 and I was so tempted. I have a mild obsession with leather coats and it was hard to remain calm. Their candy coloured leather bags were also a steal with some as low as $29. A leather bag is a great investment at any time of year in my books and honestly a pop of colour in the fall and winter is so refreshing. They're also offering 25% off new fall merchandise for a limited time so proceed with caution, or leave your credit card at home.

French Connection also had great deals. The store entrance displayed a full table of cute layering tanks and short sleeved blouses for $19 and the back wall was home to great clutches, footwear, belts and more at up to 70%. You can see my favourites below. Summer cocktail dresses were plentiful, some as low as $29. Denim was a little scarce but I did spy some stretchy skinnies for $49.  If jeans are your mission, head to Banana Republic's Factory Store where denim is 50% off until August 16th or check out Tommy Hilfiger's denim sale advertised from August 12 - 28.

Swimsuit shopping might seem a little unnecessary right now but they're all on clearance which is just fine by me. I hate paying full price for an item I wear so little. Note: I will spend tons on a great cover up though *wink*.  If you plan to head south in the winter and want a new suit, now is the time to buy if you share my sentiments. Tommy Bahama is offering 40% off already reduced prices for their swimwear normally in the $75 - $150 range and French Connection had a few teeny weeny string bikinis and cover ups amongst their sale items too.

I hadn't planned on checking out Forever 21 since everything is so affordable it's like it's always on sale but I was curious to see how low they'd mark down their summer styles. They've got a yellow tag sale on thats offering select sweaters, hats, shorts and skirts from $8 - $22  so I'd head here if you're looking to pick up a few transitional items at a great price.

These are just a few of the many great stores and sales you can find inside Vaughan Mills. They've got tons of designer outlets including BCBG, Holt Renfrew Last Call, and Betsy Johnson alongside fast fashion stores like Old Navy, Joe Fresh and H&M. The food court also has Ben & Jerry's, my personal heaven.  It is a bit suburban being out in Vaughan but a complimentary shuttle service is offered from Union Station until September 30th for hip urban girls who would be prefer to relax during the trek up highway 400. If you're into bargain hunting, it's totally worth the drive.
