TIFF 2011: The TORO After Dark Party

Mercer Street got a double dose of TIFF action this past weekend as AME Restaurant was welcoming A-listers and industry professionals for TORO Magazine’s TORO After Dark celebrations Friday and Saturday night. The twitter feed lit up when Glee's Corey Monteith showed up in a pork pie hat and when Howie D from the Backstreet Boys was spotted.
Friday night’s event was hosted by Gerard Butler, Academy-Award-winning Canadian writer, producer and director Paul Haggis, director Jason Reitman and host George Stroumboulopoulos to benefit Artists For Peace and Justice’s initiatives for children living in Haiti. We also spotted Gabrielle Miller, best known for her comedic brillance on Corner Gas, wearing big bauble earrings and a hot strapless number.
On Saturday night, film industry insiders enjoyed cocktails from SKYY Vodka, sipped Two Oceans Wine and sampled Glenfiddich whiskey after their movie screenings. Toronto band Everest and Canadian Olympian Jennifer Botterill were also sighted. Nice work from our friends over at TORO.
