There are some things in life that are just exclusively dedicated to the happiness of women. Along with designer handbags and sky-high heels there are beauty products. Hair, nails, makeup and fragrance, I just can’t get enough. I guess you can say I’m a true Barbie at heart. Hey, L’Oreal said it and I’m saying it now: because you’re worth it.
Clarisonic Mia - Ever scrub your face until you look like a tomato and still feel dirty? Clarisonic is the electric toothbrush for your skin. It’s also super efficient and rechargeable. The brushes are disposable and you can use it with any cleanser on the market. Timed to exfoliate your face for a full 60 seconds, you need this machine in your skincare regime stat (Sephora $149).
Sally Hansen Salon Effects - I’m obsessed with nail design. But I’m also impatient and slightly accident-prone, making me the worst person to nurse this obsession. However, these nail strips are a game-changer. It comes with a nail file, a cuticle stick and step-by-step instructions with images to follow. Made with real nail polish, the best part about this: no drying time (Shoppers Drug Mart $9.99).
Dior Diorshow Mascara - This is hands-down the best mascara I have ever tried. Made for the shortest, straightest, thinnest lashes imaginable, Diorshow will never let you down. It’s a little pricey, but totally worth the splurge if you’re a smokey eye fan like me (Sephora $24.50).
Suave Dry Shampoo - I can’t live without this dry shampoo, and for $4 you really can’t go wrong. Too bad it’s only available in the United States, but it works just as well as Rene Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo (if you’re willing to spend over three times as much). Spray on and comb it out and your hair is fresh and bouncy like you just washed it. PS it also gives you lots of volume (Drugstore.com $3.49).
Philosophy The Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash - This might sound impossible, but this exfoliator is really gentle on your skin and makes your face feel squeaky-clean. It’s sulfate-free and even moisturizes with topical antioxidants. It’s a miracle in a bottle (Sephora $25).
