Flirty Girl Fitness is the brainchild of sisters Kerry and Krista Knee, who quickly became known as "The Flirty Girls". Their classes incorporate Beyonce booty bumping moves, getting on the bar and dancing it up Ugly Coyote styles to boxing it out in Flirty Fight Club - whatever tickles your fancy, it's all about being fit, having fun and feeling fabulous!
What inspired you to pole dance and start Flirty Girl Fitness?
Terri Hatcher, with her super hot bod, on the Oprah show talking about a super fun & sexy pole exercise class she took in LA. I looked for a similar class to take in Halifax/Toronto and there was nothing in Canada at the time. The concept of Flirty Girl Fitness was born then.
What is a typical day in the life of Krista Knee?
My life has changed a lot since I had my son Kashton 16 months ago. I spend a lot of time with him but I still work full time at Flirty Girl Fitness, maintaining our amazing studio in Toronto and growing the business across North America. Although I don’t teach classes anymore, I do take them several days a week at Flirty Girl Fitness – I’m so lucky I have Flirty Girl or I would never be back in my pre-baby jeans!
What are some of the disadvantages of your job?
That’s a tough one, my job is amazing. A pro and downfall I guess would be that it’s a lifestyle job….so you never really get to leave work – but 99.9% of the time my job is really fun and challenging so I really have nothing to complain about.
Tell us more your classes and events!

Woman come to our venue to have a memorable night pole dancing, lap dancing or getting up on our bar and dancing Coyote Ugly style! We offer lots of different packages including cocktails, catering and limo service.
What did you study in University/College? Would you have done anything differently?
I wanted to go into law so I studied Political Science at Dalhousie. I only finished my bachelor degree before I started Flirty Girl Fitness. Perhaps one day I’ll complete my masters as well.
Favourite places to shop in the city?
I’m pretty busy so I find the easiest place to shop is Holts….its a one stop where you can get everything you need.
Tell us about your neighbourhoods and what you like best about it.
I’m a King West girl for sure! I love how young and friendly the neighbourhood is. I love that either every other person has a dog or baby with them. There are loads of parks for me and my my son Kash to play in. And I love the food…Le Select Bistro…mmm, or Blowfish for an amazing cocktail and a delicious roll.
What do you wish someone told you when you were younger and just starting out?
Take the time to enjoy your success – I’m only starting to do this now.
What life advice do you have for hip + urban girls out there trying to figure out what they want to do?
Do what you love not necessarily what you’re good at – its more likely that you’ll grow to be great at something rather than grow to love it.
