Kevin Murphy Hair - Spring/Summer 2012

Aussie hair superstar, Kevin Murphy was in Toronto last week to present his latest products and looks for the upcoming spring/summer season.

Looking for colourful punk rock ends without the commitment?

Kevin has launched Colour Bug, a pigmented powder in orange, purple and pink to help achieve this look. It totally reminds me of my manic panic days, except the powder clings onto your styling product and spray and you can decide on the level of colour you want. All you do is work the coloured powder into hair that is prepped with styling creme and the powder will stick that. Add more creme or spray for a deeper colour.

The powder washes out easily and is a fun way to play around with your hair for a hot weekend look. I am in love with the hot pink ends on the left here.
The looks that Kevin put together for Spring/Summer 2012
We love that Kevin's products are biodegradable, paraben-free, sulphate-free and full of essential oils. I've been using the Luxury Wash + Rinse for about a week and my hair does feel softer and looks healthier. I think it's because the products are not full of cheap detergents that can break down and dry out your hair. All the packaging is 100% recyclable and the bottle design can save up to 40% more plastic than other rounded bottles.

Kevin Murphy will be launching a Mermaid Hair Kit ($39.95) for spring to help create soft, loose and wavy locks without having to dive into the sea. "The undone look seems simple, but is harder to achieve than one would think," says Kevin. The kit includes a beach texturizing resort spray and six wave clips with pin clips to create this beachy look. Simply add the finishing texture spray and add heat from your hairdryer to get the look above.
