We're Going to Spain to See Coldplay!

A sponsored hip + urban girl post.

The Hip & Urban Girl’s Guide is going to see Coldplay in concert….LIVE…from a bullring…in Madrid!

No, I’m not kidding.

It’s the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sing Yellow at the top of my lungs, under the stars with 25,000 other people in Spain of all places! I wonder if me and Gwyneth can trade paella recipes and talk about GOOP?

Coldplay is going to rock the famed Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas on October 26 as part of American Express Unstaged. The series is presented in partnership with VEVO and YouTube, and it will be live-streamed around the world at 4 pm EST, just two days after Coldplay drops their new album, Mylo Xyloto.

I will be there waving my hands in the air, so make sure you look for me during the concert. Wendy, meanwhile, will be part of a viewing party back here in Toronto.

HUG is one of four Canadian blogs heading to Spain for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our jet-setting crew includes Tyrone & Bryan from 1LoveTO, Karen from She Does the City and Mike from Mike’s Bloggity Blog.

Know what else is cool? Filmmaker Anton Corbijn – best known for ‘The American’ starring George Clooney – has been tapped to direct the Coldplay show, all part of the amazing experience. Since launching in 2010, the American Express Unstaged music series has featured shows bringing together many recognized musicians and influential filmmakers, including: Arcade Fire directed by Terry Gilliam; John Legend & The Roots directed by Spike Lee; Sugarland directed by Kenny Ortega; Duran Duran directed by David Lynch; and My Morning Jacket directed by Todd Haynes.

We are lucky to being going to the Front of the Line thanks to our friends at American Express Canada, who are giving us the full platinum experience, complete with a Concierge to help plan flights, accommodations and more.
