I have worked some crazy retail jobs throughout high school and university. One of the most memorable was wrapping Christmas gifts in a Santa hat for 10 days straight inside a mall. For eight hours a day, I got to see the frenzy of people running from store to store trying to get their shopping done. The line-ups to pay were always crazy, everyone was on edge and you could barely make your way to the food court, let alone the washroom without getting elbowed or stuck behind a group of slow walkers.
Lucky for us, our friends at American Express Canada are challenging us to do our holiday shopping online this year. With a budget of $1,000, we are going to spoil our friends and family with some sweet gifts this Christmas without having to step foot into a mall.
Think you could do all your holiday shopping online this year?
If you’re not sure where to start, here is a list of my favourite websites to shop:
1) Chapters.Indigo.ca for books, DVDs, candles and home decor
2) Etsy.com for one-of-a-kind homemade gifts
3) BestBuy.ca for electronics and gadgets
4) OldNavy.ca for adorable kids clothing, stocking stuffers and cute PJs
5) Target.com for design forward house wares and clothing
6) Sephora.com for beauty gift packs and fragrances
Make sure to also check out the Amex Hot 100 Wishlist App on Facebook for a few of our Blogger's Choice picks and to scope out this season’s hottest gift ideas. We are currently coveting this extra-fast hairdryer and automatic car starter.
Don’t want to get tube socks or a mug that says ‘Princess’ on it this year? Make your own holiday wishlist using the app on Facebook, tag your gifts and share it instantly with family and friends. It’ll save them a ton of time trying to guess what you want and you’ll end up with zero re-gifts.
Happy online shopping!
