Ecco Spring/Summer 2012 Collection Preview

It's certainly a cruel trick, being invited to ogle strappy sandals, stylish wedges and the like as temperatures just begin to dip below zero. Fortunately, my glass is always half full so I relished the opportunity to think spring and take in Ecco's forthcoming collection.

If you're not familiar with the brand, you're sort of missing out. Particularly if you're on your feet frequently from 9 to 5, or just prefer your fashion to be pain-free. Ecco equates to high quality leather, flexible and lightweight footwear with super comfortable soles.

After taking in two collections, I'm also noticing they're making moves towards becoming just a little more fashion forward as well.

An example? Exhibit A (left), the campaign poster featuring a metallic mini and lipstick red wedges. Love!

Even though we're still stuck in boots, there's nothing wrong with starting your wish list for the warmer weather and there are several pieces from Ecco that make my personal list.

I particularly loved the "Bouillon", their take on the gladiator flat offered in a few tones (far left in the next two pics).

The introduction of coral this season is so fresh and super flattering for every skin type. Very surprised to learn that each ombre shoe is hand dyed.
They do such a great job of offering a range of neutrals. P.S.. the woven wedge known as their "Kalac" shoe (at right) is my absolute fave.
Loved the navy structured bag and great oxford. FYI the same handbag silhouette, the "Medina", is available now in cognac which is equally awesome.
If you love retro looks, these flats known as their "Sculptured Sign" are sort of perfect.
Black pumps are a staple and these are probably amongst the most comfortable you can find. Buy two pairs, they're only $170.
If you're a jogger, walker or otherwise outdoorsy gal, their brightly coloured sneakers and golf shoes are a great alternative to the the North American athletic brands that everybody else is sporting.
Ecco's Spring/Summer 2012 will trickle into stores over the next few months but I did spy a fall sale online and in stores recently. If you're still shopping for gifts or want amazing boots, it's totally worth your while to visit regularly until the weather changes. Regularly priced, ladies shoes range from $140 - $225 and accessories from $85 to $475. Shop online or visit the Eaton Centre for the best selection.

  1. Love Ecco shoes - they are very comfortable and cute! I see that one of my favourite colours (peachy pale pink) is a hot colour this coming spring season.

  2. Just got the Bouillon Sandal in gold! Can't wait for summer!
