We Do Lunch With Janet + Greta Podleski

I'm A Sole Man. Ladle Gaga. Pasta Point of No Return. Hook, Line & Simple. Pea Diddy.
If you've ever flipped through one of Janet and Greta Podleski's low-fat cookbooks, you'll be rolling on the floor laughing and reading their hilarious recipe titles out loud to anyone who will listen. Usually 30 minutes later, you'll be hungrier than ever, realizing that you still haven't cooked a damn thing yet. I'm a huge fan of their TV show and own all of their cookbooks. The recipes are creative and don't taste like cardboard just because they are healthy. So I naturally jumped at a chance to meet these food-loving entrepreneurial sisters - who are two of SIX girls in the family!!!
The Podleski sisters, stars of The Food Network’s Eat, Shrink & Be Merry and authors of the bestselling cookbook Looneyspoons, invited us to lunch at the Calphalon Culinary Centre in Toronto earlier this month. We had a chance to try this delicious mushroom pizza (above) that they cooked up for us, made with protein-rich hummus instead of sauce. It was incredibly tasty and packed full of vitamin D.
Janet & Greta along with our hosts from Mobilicity chatted about how they juggle their hit reality show with their growing business and busy lives. Smart phones are Janet & Greta's modern-day Personal Assistants which enable them to engage with their fans on Facebook and check-in with distributors of their bestselling cookbooks.

The latest self-publishing run of 75,000 books sold out instantly! Booksellers informed them that readers are actually buying multiple copies of these books to gift to friends and family members. We were lucky to enjoy a sampling of couscous and pork tenderloin (above) from their newest release, The Looneyspoons Collection.

Mobilicity is currently offering a $10 unlimited data add-on plan that is currently half price for the holidays. Learn more at www.Mobilicity.ca. The Looneyspoons Collection is the best-of from their past cookbooks with full-colour photos and makes a great gift for only $20. It's already #1 on Amazon Canada and I'm in love with my copy. All the recipes are tried, tested and true by Janet and Greta themselves and it's keeping me healthy over the holidays.
