Cheesewerks Opens in King West

The best thing since sliced bread has come to NOLA (North of Lakeshore Ave)! Cheesewerks, Canada's first and only restaurant dedicated to cheese is now opened. The owners, Kevin Durkee and Tom Douangmixay source only the top-notch Canadian fromage and ingredients and use a panini press to create a super-crispy outside complimented by a smooth melts-in-your mouth filling inside.

Each scrumptious sandwich is cleverly named after cities that Kevin and Tom have visited and loved. Now you don't have to go all the way to China to get a taste of "Beijing" - Asiago, BBQ Pork, Hoisin, slivered Green Onion grilled on signature Green Onion Potato Bread. Want to eat like a rock star? Just order the "Los Angeles" - Havarti, Smashed Avocado, Arugula, Citrus Compote, grilled on Angeligus Sourdough. Love New York? Then you'll love the grilled Whole-Grain Rye stuffed with Swiss, Spiced Pastrami, Pickled Red Cabbage and Grainy Mustard. Our personal favourite is coincidentally named after our home sweet home "Toronto"! What's extra special about this one is you get to choose 2 toppings: Koreatown | Gruyere + Kimchi or The Danforth | Aged Goat Cheddar + Olive Tapenade or Little Italy | Buffalo Mozzarella, Tomato + Basil. Love it!

Cheesed out yet? Well that's not all! On Kitchen Sink Sundays, get warm and cozy with this crazy tasting 8-Artisan Cheese Turkey Strata.

Cheesewerks is a true labour of love, stemming from Kevin’s inherent joy in getting someone to try something for the first time. “Food is what fundamentally connects us all. Easy to understand, easy to enjoy, and incredibly satisfying.” We can't agree more as we grabbed a seat at the communal table and eagerly awaited our ooey gooey goodness to be served up with a hot bowl of homemade tomato soup.
