Stand out in the crowd with a one-of-a-kind custom piece that’s uniquely you. Get your creative juices flowing by handcrafting your very own piece of jewelry in a fun and challenging hands-on jewelry making class at The Devil's Workshop (located at 890 Queen Street West).

In business for over six years, The Devil’s Workshop is the vision and creation of owner Sarah Wan. After teaching at a few venues in Toronto and working out of her home studio, it was time to look for new space to root her business. It is from the desire to open up her very own studio that The Devil’s Workshop was born. Classes are very interactive and have a maximum of six students allowing for individual attention from the instructors.

Interested but don’t know where to start? Try their most popular class:

Silversmith for Beginners - Over the course of six weeks, students learn the basics of Silversmithing by sawing, sanding, shaping and polishing their way to making a piece of fine silver jewelry. Let your imagination run free and choose a project. Design a ring, bracelet, pendent or earrings. Students can expect to make 2-3 pieces depending on how complicated each piece is. The course costs $285 before tax and includes 10 grams of silver. Copper and brass are free. Book early before classes fill up! To see samples of what students can create, check out the photos of pieces I made during this class.

Getting married?  During one 6 hour class, create your very own personalized wedding bands from start to finish:

Wedding Band Workshop - Held every Saturday from 12-6pm the workshop consists of a maximum of 2 couples. Before forging your rings, couples go in for a private consultation to get fitted for rings, choose their styles and get a quote for their materials (silver, white or yellow gold available). The workshop fee is $300 per couple plus the cost of materials.  Suggested booking time is 2-3 months in advance.

In addition to their classes, The Devil’s Workshop also makes custom engagement and wedding rings as well as jewelry repairs.
For a taste of what you will learn and experience during class, watch this video created by The Devil’s Workshop, on how to forge a ring.
