Toronto Fashion Week - RAD Hourani 2012

We were invited to the RAD by Rad Hourani fashion show – listed as one of the Top 5 Must See Shows by the Globe & Mail. The designer, Rad Hourani, has created big buzz with his genderless and seasonless designs. I was psyched to get a sneak peek into the line that was ruffling feathers at TFW.
Smart, corporate and polished. This piece screamed, “Don’t mess with me, minions!”
I loved the blend of forest green and jet black in these pieces

Look bold in black!  These leather jackets stormed the runway in style.
This coat stole my heart with its unique design and colour. It conjured images of Robin Hood and his Merry Men.
I’m loving the double collar that unfolds like a flower pedal. Beautiful!
Is it a blazer? A jacket? Rock this number at the office and you’ll get results.
Everyone swarmed backstage to congratulate Rad Hourani on his latest collection. “I like the idea of a world that we could live and shape by ourselves, only by observing,” Rad explains. “My clothes have erupted from this world of mine.  They are asexual, aseasonal, they come from no place, no time, no tradition, yet they could be home anywhere, anytime.”
What a fantastic finale to Toronto Fashion Week. --- Lisa Jackson
