Toronto Fashion Week - Soia & Kyo Fall/Winter 2012

Soia and Kyo’s new Fall/Winter collection almost made me crave the return of cool weather. Don't panic - I said almost.  I would love to strut down King Street West in a few of Soia & Kyo's pieces.
No, this isn’t Moscow.  But these S&K Ushanka hats are all the rage on the runway.
Look bad-ass and stay warm in this leather jacket with a fur-trimmed hood

Check out the unique buttons on this coat. J’adore!
This burnt-yellow coat blasted the runway!  I also enjoyed the male version.
I’m absolutely loving the charcoal wool coats.  Soft and strong – together at last.
This hot red number with a fur hoodie was a showstopper. My heart jumped as it sped past me down the runway
Afterwards, I went backstage to congratulate designer Ilan Elfassy on a job well done. But I was almost railroaded by a rack of S&K coats en route. “My inspiration for the line was urban travellers,” Ilan told me. “Exploring from place to place – visiting sites, good restaurants, immersing in the arts.” Ilan offered sound advice for women looking to build their closet without busting the bank: “Buy only two coats a year!”
And his advice for the hip + urban girl looking to pursue her dreams?  “If you believe in something, go all the way.  Have patience and vision.” --- Lisa Jackson
