Cozy Cashmere From Valentine K - Spring 2012

We stopped by TNT Hazelton Lanes last week to check out the official launch of Valentine K, a luxe line of soft cashmere sweaters that you'll want to roll around in. The spring 2012 collection features soft pastels and neon brights, each sweater sports cool leather or suede elbow patches that are hand picked and unique to each sweater. The cardis are even fancier with leather shoulder patches and pockets.
Valentine K creator Lauren McLachlan talks about how she came about naming the line, "Valentine is my grandmother Marge's middle name (she was born on Valentine's Day) and the K stands for my late grandmother, Nanny Kay. They are my inspiration," she continues. "They embody such elegance and grace, and always look so put together."Lauren also shared with us, "If you look at the logo it's actually my Nannie Marge's handwriting! She has the most beautiful penmanship and I wanted her writing to be the logo." We thought this was a lovely personal touch.
Lauren was working in retail as a buyer, when she came up with the idea for a cashmere line that was well-priced and designed in Canada. Her fashion diploma from Fanshawe College came in handy and so did her experience as an intern at Moschino in New York and her work at Fashion Television in Toronto. Lauren finally saw her dream become a reality when she launched her own collection in 2011.

Lauren's spring collection features pullovers, cardigans and hooded sweaters. I'm really partial to the pullovers because of its versatility. It can be easily worn over a pair of jeans or leggings or tucked into a skirt.
We spotted PR pro Candice Best by the fitting rooms trying to decide between two Valentine K sweaters. It was a tough choice - so she ended up with both!
Sweaters range from $320 to $395 and are made from high quality cashmere
