Bring It On: The Musical is actually a whole lot of fun. As long as you don't walk in expecting a complex plotline a la Les Miserables - you will be fine. It's a story of an underdog cheerleading squad from Jackson High trying their hardest to topple their elite and evil rivals from Truman. Along the way you get to bask in some girl power storylines, social media references, watch a good girl go bad and catch some serious hip-hop moves.
The star of the show? The flips, tumbles and tosses that remind you that cheerleading isn't fluff. It requries real athleticism displayed by a cast full of ex-varsity cheerleaders and instructors. These people are the real deal.
So if you're looking for a fun girls night out, Bring It On is it and it's in Toronto for a month. Haven't been to the theatre since your last school trip? Guess what? There's a bar and they let you bring your drinks and snacks into the theatre to enjoy with you.A limited number of $25.00 Rush Seats will be available for all performances, two hours prior to curtain time, in-person at the Ed Mirvish Theatre box office with a limit of one ticket per person.
