Chic boutique hotel with a rooftop pool and central location in Montreal? Check! Our recent stay at Hotel Le St Martin left us totally relaxed after schlepping through three days in the heat, sun and rain during Osheaga. It was our perfect little oasis in the city.
This mattress was possibly the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. It got to the point where I kept sleeping in and almost missed breakfast. The pillows are feather and your head sinks right into them. Complimentary bathrobes are provided and the mini-bar comes fully stocked, with some room left for you to add your own things.
The rooftop pool, though narrow and small is still a great place to cool off - especially after a long day of shopping and sightseeing. I really appreciated having a place to chill out in the afternoon before getting ready to go out in the evening. The hotel itself is a newly constructed building where a smoked meat factory used to stand. I enjoyed the overall boutique feel of the hotel and the helpfulness of the staff. WiFi is also complimentary which is a huge plus.
Dining - We were booked in on a Breakfast Package and had four choices daily that ranged from a continental breakfast spread, bacon & eggs, granola & yogurt and a very interesting fried banana bread which tasted like French toast. The bright dining room has floor-to-ceiling windows and lets in a ton of light. There's also a busy sidewalk patio if you choose to dine al fresco. Each room is equipped with a Keurig machine to make coffee in-room as well.
We were really happy with our stay at Hotel Le St Martin in Montreal and we would definitely recommend it to friends and stay there again. The location can't be beat! We were only a two-minute walk from the hustle and bustle of Saint-Catherine street and Old Montreal was a mere ten-minute Bixi bike ride downhill. A dedicated bike lane also runs outside of the hotel on Maisonneuve with Bixi stations no more than five minutes away. The Peel Metro station is also located directly across the street. It was perfect for getting to Jean-Drapeau Parc for Osheaga. For more information visit: www.lestmartin.com
