The upcoming collection features just a little more suede, a fabrication that's much more stylish for fall, especially in a great lace-up wedge or a moccasin like bootie. The beauty is that they're still waterproofed so you can wear them into winter when the slush hits.
Sorel also included their first real HEEL...obviously I swooned. The entire ankle bootie is rubberized and the model who sported them assured me they feel super comfy. I love the leather tongue and vintage clasp that add detail and contrast.
An unexpected favourite of mine was the blanket boot. Aptly named, it looks like a woollen cocoon for your feet. Skinny jeans tucked in and something cozy on top, these are perfect for relaxed fall weekends will crunchy leaves underfoot. They're way more casual than my normal boot picks, but the very cool "Get Your Boots Dirty" ad campaign featuring strong and smart female entrepreneurs kind of sold me. The styling in the campaign is great.Look for the Sorel fall / winter 2012 to appear in-stores like The Bay, Holt Renfrew or Get Outside (Queen & Bathurst) in the next few weeks with prices ranging from $130 - $350.
And, as for my favourites...this September, my closet beckons.
