I wrote last week about my glamorous camping aka 'glamping' adventure in a safari-style tent at Long Point Eco-Adventures. Well one of the cool things I got to experience during my getaway was my FIRST zip lining tour. Here I am getting suited up with a harness, helmet and leather gloves (above).
Looking a little nervous here, going on my very first zip across! The anticipation was the worst, I knew it wasn't going to be that scary - but I get major anxiety when I have no idea what I'm about to get myself into. Needless to say, eight year-old children do this and I was pretty much fine.
Completing a 40-foot rappel at the end of the course. It looks scary, but really it's the equivalent of going slo-mo on an elevator made of rope. The hardest part was twisting around and getting ready to rappel down.
Hanging out on one of the two suspension bridges during our canopy tour. It's a neat way to be amongst the trees and to admire the foliage. This would be amazing to do in the fall. If you're afraid of heights, not to worry - you can see that we're both clipped in above on a wire.
I was a zip lining pro by the end!
A funny shot at the end of our tour with our group (above). There were 10 of us in total, including two guides and they kept us moving quickly so we never got bored waiting around. It was actually pretty fun watching everyone zip across. Zip lining runs around $95 per adult and takes about 2.5 hours, but we want to send you there for FREE!
We're currently giving away one glamping getaway prize with an overnight and TWO zip lining tours thanks to our friends at Long Point Eco-Adventures. To enter, simply check out this post and follow the instructions:
