Nails/Toes: Scotch Naturals Watercolor
This is a water-based product and free of the “Big 3″ toxic nail polish ingredients (formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate and toluene). It takes some getting used to as the polish is thicker so depending on how bold you want to go, one coat may do the trick. Drying time also requires an hour before you can fully dip your hands/feet in water so I like to give myself manis and pedis right before bed. Comes in 34 intoxicating shades at $14.99. They also have a soy polish remover for $11.99. Available at The Big Carrot.
Body: Dr. Bronner All-In-One Soap
This product was on sale so I decided to give it a try. Bonus points for the cool typography on the label and endless tidbits of facts written on the bottle! Seriously, it's unlike anything I've ever used and now I'm totally hooked! The ingredients are simple: organic extra virgin coconut, olive, jojoba and hemp oils. It lathers well with a few drops in a bath puff and leaves skin velvety soft. There are 8 different scents (lavender, rose, tea tree, peppermint, eculyptus, citrus, almond and baby mild) and 18-in-1 uses! $6.99 for 8 oz to $16.99 for 32 oz at Whole Foods.
Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair Moisturizer
If I was stranded on an island with one beauty product, this would be it! It's the ultimate moisturizer that infuses fruit stem cells, Vitamin C and an organic resveratrol grapeseed rich formula - basically all the goodness to encourage new cell growth and eliminate wrinkles. It goes on light but you can still feel the moisturizer (and smell the clean lemony scent) after a few hours. Two taps from the handy dispenser and you are on your way to defying the aging process! $65 for 1.7 oz at Shoppers Drug Mart.
Lips: eos Lip Balm
The colourful round package was too cute to resist and I couldn't decide between the strawberry sorbet and honeysuckle honeydew so I bought both! There are 6 lip smacking flavours and these balms are packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil to keep your pout soft and kissable. Available at Shoppers Drug Mart for $3.99 each.
For the wide-eyed bushy tail look in the morning, don't drink coffee but put it on your eyes instead! I've been using this eye cream for over a year now and highly recommend it for reducing puffiness and brightening dark circles. It absorbs quickly so you don't have to wait around before applying your eye makeup. It's also 100% natural, vegan and gluten free! $19 for 1 oz.
Kevin Murphy BANGSTYLE
I've been a fan of Kevin Murphy since his products hit professional salons in Canada. He recently launched his line of 14 new products, called Bangstyle. Price point is slightly lower but all products continue to deliver exceptional hair care, are colour safe and contain sunscreen to protect hair from UV (which is rare to find). There are no parabens and none of that sulphate junk either! Available at select professional salons starting at $9.99.
