TIFF has long ended but L.A. is still in the hood by way of The Detox Market, a luxe eco-boutique that's in town for a four month pop-up open now through to December 2012.
Inside this Holts meets Whole Foods retail concept, expect the best of the best in natural and holistic products that range from consumables like chocolate, oat milk and tea, to beauty products like skincare, soaps and cosmetics including nail polish so pure you could actually take a sip.
Even if you're unfamiliar with the natural product scene, this is one place you won't feel overwhelmed. All new visitors are invited to take a tour of the boutique upon arrival to become acquainted and The Detox Market offers just one product per category (the best, of course) making it really easy to shop without any guess work.
If you're looking to treat yourself to a new and interesting scent, you must sniff the Honoré des Prés Paris fragrances starting at $84. On the other hand, if you're looking for an inexpensive indulgence, the market's organic triple milled soaps are just $6.90 and promise to give a spa worthy shower.
Whether you're a green beauty gal or just a luxe-a-holic, a trip to The Detox Market comes highly recommended. A word to the wise: do not sample the Odacité skincare line unless you're prepared to become a lifelong customer.
The Detox Market is located at 367 King Street West and is open daily from 11am - 7pm. 416-548-9878.
