Let me introduce you to my new lover, Massimo. Massimo Dutti, that is. Founded in 1985 and part of the Inditex Group (a.k.a Big brother to Zara), Massimo Dutti is the latest import to land at Toronto Eaton Centre. I'm not sure if it's his plush boutique environment, rich European style, or high commitment to customer service that has me hot and bothered, but whatever it is, I've definitely got more than a school girl's crush.
If you're a globe trotter, Massimo Dutti may already be on your must shop list when travelling. The retailer already has close to 600 stores located in 53 countries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and South America. We in the west are actually among the last to become acquainted with the sophistication that Signor Dutti brings.
Prices are suprisingly affordable considering the quality and the personal attention you'll receive as a customer. I was shocked at a supple leather bag under $200 and fell in love with silky navy houndstooth trousers at $98. If you're looking for help pulling an outfit together or building your wardrobe, this is the place to go.
Sales associates are incredibly knowledgeable about the fabrics and cuts of each piece on the floor. Word on the street is they attend training in Europe to become familiar with the brand. The store also offers free tailoring on shirts, trousers and jackets, a perk often reserved for high end boutiques or bespoke services. Not so at Massimo Dutti. If you've never had a jacket or pant tailored to fit you just so, this is your opportunity to learn exactly why the perfect fit makes all the difference and at no extra charge.
While the pieces are more effortless elegant than trend of the moment, collections are inspired by runway looks making Massimo my new go to place for current classics that will have some longevity. Whether you're a career gal or just looking to impart a little European flair into your fall closet, Massimo Dutti is a must. Located on the third floor, Toronto Eaton Centre.
