I can’t believe there are only two more weeks left until the big day – the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure! It seems like it was ages ago when I accepted this blogger challenge and went literally from the couch to 5K. Looking back, I never considered myself a runner and didn’t believe that I could actually be one of those people I saw jogging on the street.
I’m happy to report that I can run in five-minute stretches before walking for a minute and a half, slowly building up to a full out 30-minute run. It’s not easy, but it’s not impossible either. My goal is still to run the full 5K in under 45 minutes and to trim two pounds off my weight from changing my unhealthy eating habits and from training.
The Pink Outfit – Team Hug is slowly preparing our team outfits. I’ll be running in these bad boys:
My neon pink and yellow Reeboks, a pair of dri-fit shorts and of course, the custom team T-shirt that we all earned as a result of all our fundraising!
Fundraising Update – So how hard did we destroy our fundraising goal? Initially we thought it would be great if we could raise $1000, since we only had three members on our team. Well, Team Hug really stepped it out and we have raised just over $2800 so far. We hope to do a final push and finish at $3000, tripling our goal.
Donate to Team Hug! – We are still collecting donations for our team. For more information, click on any of the links below or hit the big donate button at the bottom of our post.
Thanks again to everyone who donated and for all your support.
