Yesterday afternoon Toronto socialites, philanthropists, and fashion A-listers descended upon the Shangri-La Toronto for Lunch with Margaret & George, a fundraising event in support of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation featuring an exclusive Derek Lam runway show hosted by upscale Yorkville boutique, George C. and its owners Lisa and George Corbo.

I could barely find time to blink for fear of missing out on the style that hit the red carpet amongst the well dressed guests. The magazine lover in me was most excited to spot Fashion Magazine's former Fashion Director, Liz Cabral, Holt Renfrew's new Fashion Editor, Lisa Tant and Fashion Magazine's current Editor-in-Chief, Bernadette Morra.
Following cocktails in the lobby, lunch was served in chandelier studded dining room and featured a delicious three-course meal that included an asian-inspired spiced butternut squash coconut soup, delicately prepared sake miso-glazed sablefish, and an exotic sorbet with tapioca pearls and passion fruit gelée.
The real highlight, of course, was the runway with Derek Lam's colourful 70's Harlem art inspired spring / summer 2013 collection that graced the stage with a little jazz serenade to set the mood.
After lunch, guests indulged in a little retail therapy with an exclusive Derek Lam trunk show. A percentage of purchases to be donated back to The Princess Margaret Foundation.
Kudos to George C. and the Lunch With Margaret & George committee for hosting an elegant event in support of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. With the help of passionate philanthropists like The Corbo Family, we will conquer Cancer in our lifetime.
