Why shopping online keeps me sane – I get parking lot rage. Especially when it’s dark, cold and there are 15 cars fighting over one spot. The malls can be hot and crowded, not to mention the line-ups to checkout! A whopping 56% of Canadians are with me here and plan to do their holiday shopping online this year.
My ideal shopping experience would be warming up next to the fire with a glass of wine, my shopping list and my laptop. In a couple clicks, I could probably get my shopping done and over with, so I can go back to focusing on what the holidays are all about – quality time with friends and family. Since I’m a total night owl, I can do my shopping late at night and after all the stores have closed. I’m trying to simplify the holidays and keep everything easy and convenient.
So what if you have no idea what to buy? I haven’t been eight years old in a very long time and I seriously have no clue what my little cousins would even remotely want under the tree. American Express Canada has launched a cool new Holiday Hotlist app with some of the most wanted gifts this season. It’s a great starting point to get ideas and even to browse for yourself.
On my Hotlist!!! Since I started running, the Extreme Run Jacket from The Running Room is a must! It’s all about layering and keeping warm, while staying active. Also drooling over the LBD V-neck Sheath from Banana Republic to be paired with the flashy Gold Bars Necklace I spotted over at eLuxe. The Rebecca Minkoff Clutch, also from eLuxe, would be perfect for pulling the whole outfit together.
Since I’m a neat freak and also allergy-prone, I put the Dyson Animal Vacuum from The Brick on my holiday wish list. So there’s at least one practical thing there that my parents will be happy about it.
Create your own Hotlist: www.AmexHotList.ca. Share it with friends and family on Facebook to make sure no one is left guessing whether you want a solid brick of fruitcake for Christmas.
Happy online shopping!
