Jeanne Beker Launches an Eyewear Collection

So what does Canadian fashion guru and TV host Jeanne Beker do after her beloved Fashion Television show is cancelled after 27 years? Why, she designs a line of elegant eyewear, of course! The Hip + Urban Girl’s Guide was honoured to celebrate Jeanne Beker’s latest achievement and to preview her signature collection of eyewear.

Jeanne designed this line of fashionable frames in partnership with FYSH UK. It seemed like everyone who’s somebody in the fashion world wanted to get a sneak peak into Jeanne’s collection, to be released in January 2013. I had to elbow my way through the crowds just to get a look.

Okay, so I might have stopped en route to grab an appetizer or two. So shoot me!
The collection features six models of stylish specs with four different colours. I really liked that the diversity in the trends, with everything from rimless glasses to hipster chic frames. The plum-coloured glasses were really pretty and popular.

Let’s not overlook Jeanne’s signature black and white frame that looked like a zebra print. A good reminder that pairing two simple yet bold colours can really create a splash.

Staff helped me try on the glasses and find a pair that suited my facial structure. After the consultation, I chose the pair in emerald green with a medium frame.

Glasses of red and white were generously provided by STLTO, a seriously stylish wine from Italy. We were lucky enough to take a bottle home at the end of the night.

What’s really nice is that a portion of the eyewear sales will be donated to Dress for Success, a charity that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women. They provide professional attire and career support to help women thrive in both work and life. How great is that?

Want to help out with the cause? All you have to do is like or share the Frame It Forward photo album on Facebook and $1 will be donated to Dress for Success.

Keep your eyes peeled for the Jeanne Beker collection of specs, available on the FYSH UK website in January 2013!
