New Year's Eve Style for $150 or Less

I love shopping for New Year's Eve sparkle. The combination of Boxing Week deals and the euphoric feeling of popping off the price tag for a special night is irresistible.

Here are a few pieces I'd love to wear when the ball drops...especially since they're all $150 or less for a few more days.
The Dress: This form fitting velvet dress from Mango, has a flattering v-neck. It's also a tiny bit sexy with sheer sleeves. If you're celebrating with a special dinner or heading to a sophisticated cocktail party to ring in the new year, this is your dress. The classic style means you can pull it out again for winter weddings or pair with blazer for work. Consider wearing your spanx underneath for the smoothest of curves.

The Jewels: These classic faux pearls with crystal baguettes from Banana Republic are the perfect statement piece to scoop up if you don't typically wear a lot of bold jewelry or if all your pieces tend to be very trendy and you'd like something a little more refined. They'll dress up your neckline for New Years and many occasions to come.

The Separates: I just love the idea of shopping separates for New Years since you have double the opportunity to mix and match with your existing wardrobe. The peplum pleather shell from H&M is so eye-catching but could be toned down easily by layering cardi over top or a even a collared blouse underneath. FYI there is also a dress version I spied while shopping H&M Square One last week and it's only $20. The Rachel Sin pants are a bit more of an investment at $150 but besides lighting the dance floor up on NYE, sequins are very on trend for day. If you pair with a basic white tee or a tucked in sweater I promise you won't feel overdressed in January.

The Coat: It's always appropriate to have a bold coat atop your New Year's glitz. If you don't have an animal print or faux fur jacket, this wild one from Forever 21 is on a double sale with 50% off its already marked down price.

The Shoe: Yes, hot pink glittery shoes are a little bit frivolous but on sale at Nine West under $100 and I think it's a totally acceptable purchase. They'll add a pop of colour to any little black dress  and look amazing in all your photographs. Plus, I personally find Nine West to be super comfortable and I can't say the same for the cheap and cheerful lookalikes at other stores.

I'd love to know what deals you find while shopping for your New Year's Eve look. Share your sale sightings with me and fellow hugs in the comments below.
