Ultimate Travel Freedom With New Amex AIR MILES Reserve

A sponsored hip + urban girl post.

If you are looking for a premium credit card that knows how to flex its travel status then look no further than our very own backyard. The shiny NEW American Express AIR MILES Reserve Credit Card is here!

Amex had us at "premium travel experiences and exclusive Cardmember services".

On February 13, Amex held a cocktail reception at the Intercontinental Hotel to celebrate the launch of the new American Express AIR MILES Reserve Card. Fresh off the plane from Hong Kong, I was swept right into a party with lifestyle bloggers and travel junkies all comparing notes (and in some cases, passport stamps) of their latest globetrotting adventures.

So what's all the buzz about?

You probably already heard over and over again about the awesome service and access benefits American Express offers, so rather than sounding like a broken record, let us show you the types of exclusive entertainment experiences, unique travel perks/access and rich rewards programs Lisa and I have been able to take advantage of as Amex Cardmembers.

Front Of The Line gives Cardmembers first dibs to some of the best seats in the house to the hottest events and concerts -- even before they go on sale to the general public. As a kid, my parents taught me that butting my way to the front of the line was not cool. Fast forward to adult life with Amex, where bypassing the lineup is totally cool AND encouraged. YOLO! Read about our Amex Ambassador trip to The Big Apple here...

Seriously, if you love concerts as much as we do, you will definitely love the Front Of The Line benefits! More here...

Amex also knows how to Surprise and Delight by rolling out the red carpet for Cardmembers at exclusive events. Last year we got all giddied up for the Canadian premiere of War Horse at the Princess of Wales Theatre.

Nom nom!! It's no secret that Lisa and I are foodies so Summerlicious and Winterlicious top the list of things we look forward to every year. For Winterlicious 2012, we even hosted a Hip + Urban girl dinner at The Wine Bar with 30 of our friends and readers. Check out our video...

Amex has also given us incomparable access to festivals like Ottawa’s Winterlude and recently, Lisa headed to Whistler for a snowy getaway to feel the Amex Effect. You can read about her experience here...

That's not all!!

For the last 3 years, I have owned both the Amex Gold Rewards and Platinum Card and traveled to Thailand, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Paris, Amsterdam, Brazil, Colombia and Peru ALL on Reward Points! Needless to say, I can't wait to discover the travel perks that this new Amex AIR MILES Reserve Card offers including:

  • AIR MILES FlexFly, the first of its kind available through the AIR MILES Reward Program where Cardmembers are allowed to travel on virtually any flight they find.
  • 1 annual Companion Flight (Max 1,450 reward miles) in economy class through the Companion Flight Benefit.
  • 4 Lounge Passes Annually to more than 600 airport lounges around the globe.
  • Access to the Toronto Pearson Priority Security Lanes in Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.
  • Access to Priority Limo and Taxi Lanes at Toronto Pearson.
  • Waived AIR MILES Flight Administration Fee.
  • The choice to redeem AIR MILES to cover taxes and fees on flight redemption.

What's in it for me?

Still need convincing that this is THE Credit Card for you?! Well, we will let the numbers do the talking...

Earn 1 reward mile for every $10 in Card purchases at AIR MILES Sponsors.
Earn 1 reward mile for every $10 in Card purchases at eligible grocery stores, gas stations and drug stores in Canada.
Earn 1 reward mile for every $15 in Card purchases everywhere else.

If you use BOTH your AIR MILES Collector Card and the American Express AIR MILES Reserve Card at AIR MILES Sponsors, you can earn reward miles twice!

AND after you sign-up for the Card and get approved, you can earn a Welcome Bonus of 1,000 AIR MILES reward miles when you spend $3,000 within the first 3 months of Cardmembership.

Finally Convinced?

  1. While it does sound great, I was excited to check out the site and discovered there is a $299 yearly fee -- a little too rich for my blood though great if you can afford it!
