With all that history, I was a little skeptical of my invite to try FitKick, a new group class offered at FITfix, a personal training studio in the Yonge & Eglinton area. Considering my workouts have been few and far between these days, I figured any exercise is better than none and set off with an open mind.
Led by Elizabeth, a super sweet instructor who also happens to hold a black belt in Taekwondo, FitKick was not quite what I expected. This isn't follow the leader style kick boxing class, but rather a challenging but fun martial arts inspired boot camp that had my heart pumping and my legs and core feeling a little WTF?! In a good way, of course.

The class started with a warm-up of movement across the floor; kicks, high runs, gallops and such and then we moved into circuit training that had us rotating through some tough moves made interesting with equipment like stability balls, steps and free weights. I was begging for the mat in our last circuit until I realized it was time for core work but even that was motivating since our small group was arranged in a circle so we could cheer each other on.
Despite the tough work out, I felt amazingly energized after FitKick...maybe I got a little extra aggression out with those round house kicks and upper cuts? I'd highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to see results but doesn't want to waste time trying to figure out it solo in the gym or feeling lost in a crowded class.
In fact, if you'd like to try FitKick, they've offered a sweet deal for our hug readers:
