3 Classic Coats For Your Spring Wardrobe

Even when the weather's getting warmer, it's still quite cool at night. Of course you can wear a cardi or a wrap to layer up but you're just not going to feel as warm, dry or put together unless you're wearing coat at this time of year. Having the right array of jackets to top various spring looks is essential to pulling it all together effortlessly so here are 3 classic must-haves for every hip urban girl's spring wardrobe:

Banana Republic New Classic Trench in Navy, $275
1. The Trench:   Perfect for the rainy season, often belted to accentuate curves and conservative enough to wear to the office or at evening soirees, the trench is function and sophistication at it's best. Choose classic tan or try navy for a more formal look. If you're lucky enough to find a breathable version that flares and hits just above the knee, try sporting it as a dress for a different look. Très chic!
Forever 21 Cool Distressed Jacket, $47.80
2. The Denim Jacket : Your quintessential comfy casual topper for weekend looks and also an easy way to relax a dress or separates that feel a bit fancy. A light wash lends itself best to casual fare and works well with boho or athletic looks. A dark wash will present as a little more polished and can even head to work depending on your office environment. If a classic cut feels too basic for you, this is the season to pick up a denim jacket in a unique silhouette or with a print. Remember, denim is a neutral so it'll still go with everything.
RUDSAK Mia Coat, $395
3. The Fitted Leather "Moto":  This piece is exactly what you need to add a bit of edge to ultra femme lace and floral pieces that are everywhere this season. Your moto or biker jacket is also the best piece to wear for casual social gatherings at night, say hitting up your favourite rooftop patio for drinks. Real leather is a great investment because it'll only get better with age but if you're on a budget or just prefer faux, there are tons of great options at either end of the spectrum. I might be inclined to go for the real deal in a neutral and then treat myself to something inexpensive in a bold hue for fun.
