These pre-slumber treatments and product picks help me hit the sheets for 6 to 8 hours of restoration, meaning my a.m. routine will be a lot easier. It’s really the ultimate lazy-girl beauty routine because all the action happens while you’re busy catching Zzzs.
It all starts with my BBF (best beauty friend) the Clarisonic Mia that I use with my favourite Vichy cleanser, Pureté-Thermale Cleansing Milk, to gently remove all my makeup and prep my skin to absorb all the night time goodness it’s going to receive. I find this cleanser works great for my sensitive skin and the milky consistency leaves my face soft and fresh.
With my skin now prepped I get out the Skinceuticals. I discovered this brand when I went for a facial at Sweetgrass Spa and have been enjoying it for months. The products are definitely an investment, but I’ve found that the results have left me with more even and blemish-free skin that needs less makeup – worth it for me. I pat a few drops of CE Ferulic Serum on my face and neck and let that soak in for at least 10 minutes before I finish with the lightweight Daily Moisture that helps minimize pore size.
My brows and lashes can use any boost they can get, so I swipe on Prevage Clinical Lash + Brow Enhancing Serum for growth and minimize the work I need to do with mascara and brow pencils in the a.m.
You can’t forget about lips and hands! A slather of good old Vaseline does it for my lips. The last tick is something I recently picked up from essie Canada’s lead nail artist, Rita Remark, at Toronto Fashion Week. She told me that if there’s one thing women should do to improve the look of their nails it’s apply cuticle oil before bed. essie’s Apricot Cuticle Oil has now found a permanent place on my nightstand.
Do you have some post-slumber beauty tricks you swear by? What products do you use before bed?
