Two New Ways To Wear Your Name

I still remember heading to the kiosk in my local mall with my grade six-ish friends to purchase tiny cubic zirc studded letters to create our personalized name necklaces in early 90s. Later in the decade came Miss Bradshaw with the infamous "Carrie" scrawl across her décolletage in the form of a gold chain and it seems the obsession with name necklaces has been going strong ever since.  Rocking your name on your neck has been around for ages but the options have never looked quite this stylish thanks to these 2 new Toronto labels:

A far cry from the kitschy personalized fare available in a tourist shop, jewelry designer Louise Henry created Nayme as a more sophisticated way to wear your name. Each Nayme necklace is a sterling silver pendant designed to reflect the meaning of the wearer's name offering a personalized accessory that's also cute conversation piece. Wear it as a chic everyday staple or layer up with other treasures. Prices from $130.

Déesse Collective
Inspired by the natural curves of a woman, Déesse Collective is the lovechild of two artists, Gabrielle Lasporte and Jenny Greco who combined their talents to create hand drawn and hand cut monograms from sterling silver that certainly make a statement. Déesse necklaces are available in 3 sizes allowing you to customize your piece based on how dramatic and bold you wear you want to wear your accessory. Prices from $150

Regardless of which style you're more attracted to, I think it's safe to say you'll finally have one up on Carrie. As for me, my birthday around the corner and I'm just putting it out there...I think I need them both.
