Farmers' Markets in Toronto

Can't get to the farm? Well the farmers are now coming to the city with their trucks full of organic fruits and veggies, fresh produce, flowers and honey. Eating healthy and supporting local vendors is easier than ever so resist the temptation of ordering take-out (again), and shop these awesome farmers' markets!


AppleTree Farmers' Market
Location: Davisville Village (btw Davisville Ave & Mt. Pleasant)

From May 14 to October 8, this non-profit organization promotes local, sustainable foods with a community shopping experience. The vendors don't just sell food here but provide education about where the food comes from, how to eat more healthy and ways to improve your health.

Trinity Bellwoods Farmers' Market
Location: Shaw St & Dundas St W

From May 7 to October 29, get access to healthy, local, organic and naturally grown produce, meats and dairy. Many vendors here support slow food - meaning gathering regional foods, taking it home to cook and eating it with your loved ones.

Riverdale Farm Farmers' Market
Location: Riverdale Park W (201 Winchester St)

Open May 22 to October 23, the farmers here are all certified organic or in transition. Meats and poultry sold are free range and with minimum medication. Great place to buy lush flowers and since it is a farm, bring the little ones as well!

City Place
Location: Canoe Landing Park

From, June 4 to October 15, shop conventional and organic veggies, fruit, honey, antibiotic & hormone free meats, organic eggs, flowers and more. No more excuses for students not to eat well!


Fresh Wednesdays
Location: Nathan Phillips Square (100 Queen St W)

Beginning June 5 to October 23, shop fresh Ontario-grown produce, flowers and delicious baked goods while taking in a free noon-hour outdoor concert.

Bloor Borden MyMarket
Location: Lippincott Green P (Bathurst St & Bloor St W)

From June 5 to October 23, organic farmers bring the "real deal" to the city by helping shoppers find the right foods and encouraging the benefits of eating locally.


Metro Hall Farmers' Market
Location: David Pecaut Square (55 John St)

From May 30 to October 17, Ontario farmers bring the best of their produce into the city - seasonal, fresh produce, smoked meats, amazing flowers, mushrooms, honey and cheese. Catch some rays and enjoy the live music performances.


Evergreen Brickworks
Location: 550 Bayview Ave

Beginning May 4 to November 10, this family-friendly market features the best of the season, with an assortment of fruits, vegetables, wild fish, meat, cheese, milled flours, eggs and oils from local farmers. They have a garden centre as well for all your herbs and shrubbery needs.

Junction Farmers' Market
Location: Train Platform Dundas West

From June 1 to October 13, local farmers and artisans come together to create a diverse and vibrant space. What's extra cool about this market is there are no-resellers - meaning no produce or prepared foods sold can originate from the Ontario Food Terminal or any other retail outlet.

Withrow Park Farmers' Market
Location: Logan & Carlaw St

Beginning May 18 to October 28, rain or shine, this market is a community based initiative that has adopted an ecological and local focus on fresh produce and prepared foods. Find all kinds of produce, sauces, baked goods and cheeses here.


Liberty Village MyMarket
Location: Liberty Village (Liberty St)

Open June 2 to October 27, shop Canada's first certified local farmers' markets where you can get the best produce from Ontario's MyPick Verified Local Farmers. Think of it as supporting farmers who grow "real food".


  1. Also, Leslieville Farmers Market is new (in it's second year) and wonderful.

  2. What about the St.Lawrence Market at Front East and Jarvis? This place is amazing, in the very heart of the city and yet maintains a feel of local community. I know most of my favourite vendors personally, they have been in business for years now and know what quality food is!

  3. Farmers Markets are my fav because I love eating vegetables, breads, and fruits. I can't live without those.
