Contest: Meatless Mondays, We're Lovin It!

A sponsored hip + urban girl contest.

We're starting our week off on a healthy foot! It's been two years since I committed to Meatless Mondays and it's made an incredible difference. Not only have I been able to maintain a leaner and trimmer body, but overall, I feel energized and am able to stay more focused at the office. Good-bye to that 3 p.m. crash!

Thinking of joining the challenge? Here are 5 easy tips on how to rock Meatless Mondays:

1) Create a meatless version of a charcuterie board by gathering up your favourite veggies, breads, crackers, hummus and dips. It's way more fun to eat than a salad!

2) Visit your local farmers' market or subscribe to a fruits and vegetables delivery service. This is a sure-fire way to help you eat more greens as well as try new vegetables that are organic and fresh.

3) Get your friends involved. Exchange recipes and take turns hosting a ‘green’ potluck. Like a lot of things, the more the merrier! It's also easier to stay motivated when you have continuous support and encouragement.

4) Don't restrict yourself to only eating fruits and vegetables. Legumes (think bean burritos), tofu, grains (love quinoa), vegan sausages and even vegan bacon all count and they provide tons of calcium and protein!

5) Going meatless doesn't mean you have to stay at home and cook all the time. Head to McDonald's and grab a veggie Signature McWrap™. It's loaded with simple, wholesome ingredients packed with big flavour!

To help you go meatless, we are giving away a $100 McDonald's gift card so you can try out the veggie Signature McWrap™ for yourself!

Comment below and let us know if you'd like to try one; or better yet, if you've had one of these wraps already, what do you think of them?

Don't forget to include your email or Twitter handle so we can contact you. We will choose one lucky winner on Friday, September 27 at 11pm EST. Good luck + stay healthy!

The new veggie Signature McWrap™ options are served on whole-wheat steamed tortillas and are available in two delicious flavours for $4.39 + tax.

Mediterranean Veggie - roasted garlic hummus, feta cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, shredded iceberg lettuce, lemon-seasoned crispy onions seasoned with lemon, and a creamy Mediterranean feta sauce.

Santa Fe Veggie - fire-roasted corn, black beans, a blend of light cheddar and Monterey Jack, tomatoes, red onions, shredded iceberg lettuce and crunchy tri-colour tortilla strips are mixed with chili lime glaze and a Southwest sauce.

  40. I would love to try the veggies ones, I have only tried the Chicken and Bacon and it was pretty tasty. Their new wraps seems so creative and quite big.

I tried to do meatless day in the past, but I was on tight budget due to being a student and I realized I needed a bit more planning.
I am thinking of trying it again, I just need some motivation.
