Sears Look! Report: Your Guide To Fall Trends

A sponsored hip + urban post.

With fall on the horizon, my fashion reading list includes stacks and stacks of September issues from Vogue to Fashion Magazine to InStyle but recently a new glossy has made it to the mix. Enter Sears Canada’s new Fall Look! Report bearing the ever gorgeous supermodel, Bar Refaeli on the cover and featuring this season's most wearable trends at fantastic price points. Of course, it's one thing to fall in love flipping through the pages of a magazine but the magic happens when you step in store to touch the fabrics and try things on so I did just that to make sure it's not all just smoke and mirrors (and make-up and airbrushing).

With all that trying on, here are my favourite trends from Sears Fall Look! Report:

Denim Redefined
Denim never really goes out of style but I'm sure we've all noticed the spike in uber cool options to choose from and I'm happy to see the trend of daring denim continues via Sears freshly re-vamped, Buffalo Group designed, Nevada denim collection. They've got your denim wardrobe essential, the dark wash skinny jean, for under $40 (also in black and bordeaux) plus on-trend military inspired camo print and cargo versions. Sure, Ms. Refaeli is the face of the line which might be a little intimidating (how gorgeous is she?), but the pieces fit fabulously on my curvy shape. My fave: Nevada Mia Skinny Jean, $39.99

'60s Style
As a regular hunter of vintage pieces I'm equally over the moon for modern interpretations of classic looks from eras past and just happen to have a sweet spot for the polished and ladylike looks of the 1960s. Sears has all your 60s style essentials from sexy pencil skirts, demure sweaters, structured bags and of the moment embellishments with leather and fur. My fave: Jessica Weekend Sweater in Pink / Wine, $39.99.

Biker Chic
At the opposite end of the spectrum I'm very into the tough girl trend. Leather anything, stud details, zippers, moto jackets and the like... though the stylist in me cautions you not to sport all of the above at once. While I didn't spot any real leather pieces, the price points and the quality of the faux leather versions make it really easy to jump into this trend without a ton of commitment. My fave: Attitude Faux Leather Moto Jacket, $79.99 (FYI currently 40% OFF!)

So...What Did I Take Home?
In the end, the Nevada collection won me over and I spent my time debating between the Mia skinnies in black and dark wash, the skinny cargos and these great floral print skinny cords. The cords and the cargos won though I suspect I'll be back for the Moto Jacket and that gorgeous Naveah waterfall sweater.

Remember, these trends are just a few of my favourites but Sears’ Fall Look! Report is chocked full of many more runway interpretations including must-have looks for beauty, men, kids and home. Stop by a Sears store to pick up your copy or just take a gander at the Look! Report online

Shopping Tip: I'm a big fan of approaching seasonal shopping with a plan and I love using Pinterest to create a quick visual list of what I'm looking for this season. If you're a fellow pinner take a minute to follow Sears on Pinterest where all the Look! Report trends are featured so you can and repin your favourite looks before heading to Sears to get stylish for fall.
