With our dear friend the Polar Vortex acting like the obnoxious party guest that just won't leave, previewing spring collections is torture. Who wants to bask in sunny florals and short sleeves when it's clear any double digit temperatures will be in the negatives for at least another month? I was fighting my winter rage on a freezing but sun soaked afternoon when I opened up to a new perspective and a crush worthy new label, REESE.
Designed by twenty-something, Torontonian turned nomad, Sherise ("Reese") Cromwell, REESE offers a collection of unisex separates, women's swimwear and hand-cast accessories that I'll describe as tomboy minimalist meets boho wanderlust. Inspired by the designers own love of neutral palettes, relaxed mens silhouettes and time spent in the islands and on the west coast, REESE left me a little less angry at Mother Nature because, after all, somewhere the air is salty and the breeze is hot.
On my packing list? The sheer panelled, high waisted Aiolani bikini bottoms paired with Aiyana cage strap bandeau top for the beach, the slouchy yet edgy Ankara jersey knit pants for the airport and relaxing on the balcony at night and any of the stunning raw crystal and sterling silver REESE X Laurie Fleming rings to add a little more drama to my vacay look.
