Look 1: Borrowed & Blue - If you're still missing that cozy pair of artfully shredded boyfriend jeans, this is the season to get them because denim (especially the faded and worn variety) is huge. Wear with other subtly masculine silhouettes like a button down shirt (also a major staple) but keep it soft and tonal with bold blue accessories, a major colour way for the season.
My picks: Calypso St Barth long sleeve shirt, 150 CAD / J.Crew blue jeans, 150 CAD / TOMS flat shoes, 77 CAD / Diana Tracy Collection Pacifica Necklacee, $35 CAD.
Look 2: Pastel Garden - Let your spring style bloom with pastels and floral prints but pull in a dark neutral like black, navy or slate to create contrast. It's far easier to wear. Don't be afraid to mix your prints - just be sure the palette complements. For example, both the florals in the top and shoe have black and white and the scales of print are varied. You don't have to go ladylike with your pastels but tea length skirts are the hem line of the moment. Above the navel it's all about the crop top and I love the juxtaposition of a longer hem with a little midriff. As they say, opposites really do attract.
My Picks: Topshop crop shirt, 49 CAD / Tea Length Party Skirt, 245 CAD / Jeffrey Campbell ankle strap pumps, 220 CAD / Crystal stud earrings, 14 CAD.
Look 3: Track Star - Unlike that certain yoga pant I see regularly in aisle 3 at the grocery store, this season's athletic wear is made for the catwalk, not the elliptical. Seriously, it's never been so easy to rock a casual look to dinner but remember this sporty look should shine, not look sloppy so pull in metallic accents on that sweat shirt and try a graphic printed track pant for extra punctuation. A fringed pendant necklace and quilted leather look shoes add a little more texture and keep you right on trend.
My picks: Each Other black sweatshirt, 460 CAD / Topshop x Adidas track pants, 83 CAD / H&M quilted shoes, 37 CAD / Cleobella yellow gold necklace, 175 CAD.
Okay, who's ready to go shopping!?
